2006-2018

The National Wildlife Federation (NWF) presented an award to the City of Fort Lauderdale for their "Green Your Routine Program" resulting in numerous Habitats in 2017. Both Moringa members Hadny Fayyaz (left) and Rose Bechard Butman (Right) were involved with the program and appear next to the NWF official holding the framed award.

Rose Bechard-Butman: Certified Arborist spoke about The Ficus Whitefly which is attacking Ficus trees and hedges in south Florida. Leaf loss can cause severe branch dieback and can result in plant death. Learn what to watch for that shows signs of infestation and the best solutions according to research from the University of Florida/ Extension.

On Thursday the 23rd, L. Thomas Chancey, Landscape Architect and Naturescape Task Force and  National Flyways Coalition Member, spoke about the exciting new Greater For Lauderdale Flyways Cities Coalition combining Flyways and Waterways for migratory birds and animals.

The girls transplant some pizza garden plants and seeds into a mock “plot”.  The family eats lima beans, green beans and broccoli, right out of their garden. Jennifer says, "It’s easy and you don’t need a lot of space, and with grocery prices so high right now, this saves you money."
